Book Review - A Kingdom of Stars and Shadows by Holly Renee
A Kingdom of Stars and Shadows by Holly Renee
It might be because I’m reading too many fantasy romance novels all around the same time, but I feel like I could predict everything that happened in this book. But it didn’t lessen my enjoyment of reading this at all.
Adara is what they called Starblessed, which means that she has the ability to wake up dormant magic. So she was arranged to marry Gavrill, the fae prince of Citlali. However, what she didn’t know is that he has a handsome half-brother, Evren, who’s the commander of the Citlali army. Will she pick the “perfect” fae prince, or his dangerous half-brother?
Spoiler, but she falls for Evren. But nothing is ever as it seems in these books, and nobody is as perfect as they seem or as they make themselves seem. My only complaint with this book is that Adara and Evren’s relationship kind of came out of nowhere. In their second encounter, he was already telling her that it took everything in him to not get on his knees for her. It was just a little random, and the relationship didn’t grow as naturally as I would’ve liked or expected.
I still enjoyed reading this book though, and I will be interested in reading the rest of the series.
