Series Review - Savage Lands Series by Stacey Marie Brown

Savage Lands Series by Stacey Marie Brown

Thank you so much to my cousin for recommending this series to me. I had seen it on TikTok but never thought to seek out reading it. But this series far exceeded any expectations I had. Stacey Marie Brown may have become my favorite author. Her writing style is immaculate, keeping me entertained and intrigued throughout the entire series. Usually, when I slow down while reading a book it means that I have lost interest in the story. But in the case of this series, I started slowing down because I never wanted this series to end. I have never been so sad for a series to be over.

I'll be honest, I didn't immediately love the characters at the beginning of book one. At first, Brexley came off to me as impulsive and just annoying; but she definitely grew on me throughout the book and the rest of the series. Her love interest, Warwick is also totally dreamy. Before being introduced to him we, as readers, are told the story of this scary military legend known as "The Wolf." Well, lo and behold, Warwick is "The Wolf" but there's much more to him than we, or Brexley, could have ever known. He's so attentive and caring toward Brexley when necessary but also rough and rugged, which keeps the story really interesting.

The side characters in this series are better than in anything I've read before. Like seriously, I've never cared so much about so many different characters in a book before. I'm almost tempted to say that I love the secondary characters in this series better than the main characters. In the last book, the author decided to add POVs from many of the side characters throughout the book. I wish that it would have been throughout the series because it would've made more sense than just adding it for one single book. Despite that, this is definitely up there with some of my favorite series and books of all time.
