Audiobook Review - The Sweetest Connection by Denise Williams

The Sweetest Connection by Denise Williams

Yet another audiobook narrated by Teddy Hamilton. I swear he could read me the phone book, and I'd hang on to every word he was saying. The Sweetest Connection is a novella that I found on Libby when it was a Friday afternoon and I just needed a short read to get me to the end of the day at work.

The Sweetest Connection follows Silas and Teagen. Silas and Teagen have been best friends since they met in college. Now, out of college, they are both working at the airport. Teagen works in the candy store, but has dreamt of travelling the world and is finally seizing the opportunity to go abroad for a few months and travel throughout Europe. But a few days before she's about to leave, she finds a note on the floor of a candy store. It's a pros and cons list that someone has written about deciding whether to reveal to their best friend that they're in love with them. So Silas and Teagen go on the hunt, to find the couple to try and play Cupid. But along the way, they realize that maybe there's more between them, too.

This was a really short and sweet novella. I didn't feel particularly connected to any of the characters, but I liked them enough to finish their story. Honestly, if it weren't for Teddy Hamilton's narration, I might not have finished this book just because I thought it was just okay. I'm starting to think that the friends to lovers trope is just not for me, because I just never seem to love those stories. I think I'm too much of an enemies to lovers girly.

Overall, this story was a cute, low-stakes romance. I'd recommend it if you need a quick read.
