Book Review - The Girl Who Kept Winter by Giao Chi
The Girl Who Kept Winter by Giao Chi
This was the first book I've read using Kindle Unlimited. It was recommended to me based on the books that I've read from the kindle app using Libby. I would definitely say that it is similar to the books I've read in the past and I did enjoy reading it. It was a quick read for me, only took about 3 hours to read from start to finish.
This story starts with Dong Tu who is a girl who is arranged to marry a guy who's kind of a jerk. Before the wedding, she goes on a delivery for her family's dojo and runs into some members of Monstrous Eighteen. One of them is the handsome Obsidian, King of Poison. Long story short, she ends up falling for Obsidian. But Obsidian, King of Poison, is poison himself, with his skin being laced with a lethal toxin.
For once, I was actually surprised by the ending and didn't really see it coming, but the ending wasn't exactly a happy one. Although I only rate the book a 3/5, the ending alone makes me want to read the second book, Frigid. So, I probably will be reading the second book at some point. Overall, this was an enjoyable read that actually felt more like a manga or anime and was fast-paced.
