Book Review - A Cage So Gilded by Ingrid Seymour
A Cage So Gilded by Ingrid Seymour
I was interested enough in A Prince So Cruel to read this sequel and I did enjoy it. This book continues the story of Dani and Kalyll. Turns out that in the effort to save Kalyll's life in the final book, Dani allowed some darkness back into him and now he has a duel-personality thing going on. During the day he's Kalyll, but at night he becomes Wolfe. Throughout this book, Dani struggles with her old feelings for Kalyll as well as her newfound feelings for Wolfe. Kalyll was willing to let her walk away in order to fulfill his duty as a prince, whereas Wolfe would do anything for her.
I enjoyed reading this book more than the first one. The pace of the story felt a lot better and didn't seem to lag as much as in A Prince So Cruel. I hate, hate, hate the cliffhanger that's left at the end of this book though. It went from a beauty in the beast retelling to a sleeping beauty retelling. I can see why the author did this, but it's a really frustrating cliffhanger. Regardless, I'll look forward to what happens when A Court So Dark is released in June.
