Book Review - Court of Ice and Ash by LJ Andrews
Court of Ice and Ash by LJ Andrews
This book is the sequel to Curse of Shadows and Thorns and I thought that this book was a lot more interesting. I almost didn't read past the first book, not because it was bad but just because it didn't pull me in like I would have liked. But I'm glad I decided to read on because this book was more interesting to me than the last.
This book picks up where the last one left off, with Elise and Valen separating ways. Elise wants Valen to take his rightful role as the chosen King, but Valen would prefer to continue his quest for vengeance. But like all good romances, they can't and don't stay apart for long. Despite this, I thought the romance aspect was really lacking in this book. Elise and Valen spend a lot of time purposefully ignoring each other even after kissing and then pretending that nothing happened. So the romance part was just a little lacking in my opinion.
I did actually like the dual POV aspect because it offered more insight into what Valen is thinking. I almost wish that we saw more of a love triangle with Elise and Valen and Elise and Ari. Regardless, I still enjoyed reading this book. I will definitely be reading further into the series in the future.
