Book Review - The Demon Prince by Amanda Aggie
The Demon Prince by Amanda Aggie
In this book, we have Alice, a witch whose powers haven't manifested yet, who lacks any true knowledge about her parents because her aunt (who took her in as a child and cared for her after her parent's death) has kept the information from her. While at a frat party, Alice meets a guy named Kai to whom she instantly feels a strange attraction. Well as it turns out, he's the nephilim Prince of Hell and her mother had struck a deal with Lucifer and arranged for Alice to marry Kai when she turns 23. So Alice is taken to Hell and a wedding date is set.
The whole concept of this book was really interesting, but it just missed the mark with me for some reason. This book combines mythology with biblical characters and other characters like Peter Pan. If this was a well-written book, it would have made all the difference. But the number of typos, grammatical errors, and weird sentence structure just made this book hard to read.

Like I said at the beginning of this review, the whole premise of this series is interesting but there were so many weird inconsistencies in the story. At the beginning of the book, Alice is told that Michael (who's ruling Heaven in God's place) doesn't know she exists. But like 50% of the way into the book, Alice is told that Michael does know that she exists and will hunt her down. Also, before going to Hell, Alice's uncle gifts her a pendant that would allow her to see across realms. And she ends up being able to see her aunt and uncle with the pendant at the beginning. But why can't she use this pendant to look at other realms? Instead somehow, without even trying, she's able to just see her aunt and uncle.
I did enjoy the story for what it was. Kai and Lucifer were my favorite characters. Alice was just meh, she was kind of annoying. I won't be reading on in the series but this book was good enough.
