Book Review - Six Scorched Roses by Carissa Broadbent

Six Scorched Roses by Carissa Broadbent

Six Scorched Roses is a novella of the Crowns of Nyaxia series, which I have absolutely loved. My review of The Ashes & The Star-Cursed King will be posted on Friday, April 21, so stay tuned for that.

This novella explores the relationship between Lilith and Vale, and I wish I would have read it before I read The Ashes & The Star-Cursed King because it provided a little more context about how people felt now that Raihn was the Rishan Heir. Regardless, I still thought this was an amazing story that provided more information about the characters we've seen in the Crowns of Nyaxia novels.

The main character of this book is Lilith, a human, whose father made a deal with a God to make his lands fertile and heal his sick daughter. However, her father's deal unintentionally caused a plague in the town. Lilith is searching for a cure for this plague and thinks that the cure could be made from vampire blood. So she seeks out Vale, and strikes a bargain: his blood in exchange for 6 roses. Intrigued, he agrees. Over time, they get to know each other and become friends. However, when things go wrong, Lilith is forced to make a decision, to live or not to live. She ultimately decides to live and becomes a Turned vampire.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and thought that it provided some great insight into some characters from the Crowns of Nyaxia series.
