Book Review - The Chemistry of Love by Sariah Wilson
The Chemistry of Love by Sariah Wilson
I read this book as a bit of a palate cleanser for all the fantasy books that I've been reading recently. I could not have picked a better book. The Chemistry of Love is a clean romance between a relatable, dorky chemist and a rich, handsome CEO.
Anna is an insanely smart chemist who's in love with her boss. The problem is that Craig, her boss, doesn't even know she exists. After finding out that he's engaged at a company party, Anna believes that all hope is lost. That is until she meets Marco, who happens to be Craig's brother, who wants to break Craig and his fiancee up. Marco is convinced that if he and Anna pretend to date then competitive Craig will try and steal Anna away. This is exactly what Anna wanted, right? Except, as she gets to know Marco and Craig more, she realizes that maybe she had it wrong the whole time.
I absolutely adored the main character Anna. She was so relatable, nerdy, intelligent, and inadvertently hilarious. I completely related to her awkwardness and laughed out loud at the things she would say and do. I also loved Marco's character. He was so sweet and thoughtful, literally the perfect book boyfriend. The dynamic between Marco and Anna was just perfect. They were made for each other and had such good banter and major chemistry (no pun intended). All of the characters in this book were so well written.
I also loved the story even though it was much slower-paced than I'm used to reading. I just really liked everything about this book and thought it was so amusing and entertaining. The fake-dating trope can really make or break a story, but it was so well used in this case. Their relationship was completely believable which helped. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in a clean, upbeat romance.
