Book Review - Dead Lands by Stacey Marie Brown
Dead Lands by Stacey Marie Brown
Dead Lands is book three of the Savage Lands series. This book solidified that this is the best series that I’ve read so far this year, and maybe ever. This series has a way of sucking you in and it’s just so insanely well written. It truly feels as if I’m a character in this book because the writing just pulls you into the world.
We’re introduced to a new character in this book, Mykel, the leader of Povstat, a rebellion, and the guy, who’s Brexley’s uncle, who ordered for Brexley to be kidnapped. Talk about some bad vibes from him though, it’s all a little suspicious. He tasks Brexley with the mission to find the nectar (the magic liquid that literally everyone is looking for in these books). In this book Brexley is still struggling with who she is and what she is.
But omg, at least there is finally some real spice and romance between her and Warwick, the real one not the shadow one at that. Ugh even though he’s an asshole, I am obsessed with Warwick. He’s just so dreamy. I can't decide who I like more, Warwick or Killian. On one hand, Warwick is the rugged, bad-boy type. On the other, Killian is the regal, beautiful type. I just know Brex won't end up with Killian, but I so wish to just see something between them.
I will say, though, that it’s a little annoying how literally everyone is obsessed with Brexley. It’s like everyone, male or female, just can’t resist Brexley for some reason. One of my favorite characters in this book was Scorpion. He’s another tatted-up, big, buff guy. I truly hope he gets a happy ending because I doubt he’ll end up with Brexley and he deserves the world. Honestly, all of Brexley's friends deserve the world because of their loyalty and strength.
I literally couldn’t stop reading this series so I started book 4, Bad Lands, right after finishing this. I am so excited to see what’ll happen next and how this series concludes.
