Book Review - Wild Lands by Stacey Marie Brown
Wild Lands by Stacey Marie Brown
This book begins right where Savage Lands left off. One thing that I've loved about this series so far is that it is so fast-paced but I don't feel like anything is rushed. By the end of this book I'm already feeling bad for Brex because so much has happened to her so far. After breaking out of Halalhaz with some help, Brex is now on the run and basically totally dependent on Warwick. They end up in the Savage Lands but after some twists, Brexley ends up in the custody of Killian, the leader of the fae. While growing up, Brexley was told that the fae were cruel and ruthless, but after spending time with Killian she realizes that what she had always thought may not be correct and that there is not a big distinction between good and bad.
As with the first book, I loved the pacing of the book and the characters. Throughout this book and the last, people are mysteriously drawn to Brexley and she really wants to find out why. In this book, we learn more about some side characters like Zander, who has been one of my favorites so far. He is just so sweet and kind to Brex (if you can forget that he was one of the prison guards at Halalhaz). I am not usually one for a slow-burn romance so I found myself infuriated by Brexley and Warwicks' constant "I'm drawn to you but I hate you" act. But at the same time, it was also perfect for them, so I loved it.
This book was so interesting and I feel like it offered a lot more insight into the first book and more happened so it kept me intrigued. I have been loving this series so far and will definitely be seeing it through to the end.
