Book Review - The Modern Girl's Guide to Magic by Linsey Hall

The Modern Girl's Guide to Magic by Linsey Hall

A charming witchy read for this Halloween day! Now Charming Cove is the name of this series, but I seriously do think that this book/story is charming. The story was so wholesome and it was just a very enjoyable read. I already want to start reading book two!

The Modern Girl's Guide to Magic follows Aria, a witch who can't seem to get control over her magic. Anytime she tries to use her magic, it quite literally blows up in her face, and no one seems to know why. Aria leaves behind Charming Cove until she is needed by her family to join a competition to take control over Charming Cove's Garden of Enchantment when its owner decides to retire since it provides her family's potion shop with much-needed potion ingredients. But little does she know, Callan Hawthorne, the billionaire mage that she dislikes is also competing. Over the course of the competition, they are forced to interact and spend time with one another, but at some point, they realize that they're spending time with one another because they genuinely enjoy each other's presence.

The characters in this book were so wholesome. Aria is so relatable, in that she feels like a failure until she discovers why her magic has been letting her down so far. When she finally unlocks her true potential, she becomes a really strong and confident character. Callan is also such a sweetheart, and his love and support for Aria is just so perfect. Everyone needs a Callan in their life.

I thought this was such a cozy Halloween-y read which is why I decided to post this book review today. I'd absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for a cozy magical romance.

I hope everyone has a great Halloween that's full of doing what they enjoy!
