Audiobook Review - Filthy Rich Vampire by Geneva Lee Albin
Filthy Rich Vampire by Geneva Lee Albin
I found this book on Libby after running out of my audiobooks so I just saw this title under the "available now" and woah my god it did not disappoint. I wasn't sure what I was expecting based on the title and I honestly didn't even read the description. I am also so mad about the ending. I was listening to the last 7 minutes during my car ride home from work and was literally screaming after it ended because what. the. actual. fuck????
Thea is a student cellist who struggles with student loans and her mother's medical debt. One night, her quartet is hired to play for a fancy party. What Thea doesn't know is that this party will change her life. During the event, she meets Julian Rousseaux, one of the world's richest vampires from one of the most well-known vampire families. As the oldest of his siblings, it's time for Julien to find a wife and start a family, which he definitely has no interest in doing. When he sees Thea, he proposes that she act as his girlfriend and in exchange he'll pay off her expenses. But can a human truly ever fit into the dark world of vampires?
Ugh, I seriously can't with the plot of this book (in a good way). Maybe it's just the vampire lover in me, but I ate up this book from start to finish. This was one of the most interesting vampire books that I have ever read, and I am sorry to the entire Twilight series for that. This book has a lot of the typical billionaire romance plot points, but add in some vampires and violence. It was *chef's kiss*. Also, the fact that they referenced Phantom of the Opera while at The Palais Garnier in Paris made it so much better.
I loved the characters in the book, and the narrators were perfect. My heart would literally skip a beat once in a while when the male audiobook narrator read some of Julien's quotes to Thea. Once again, he's the kind of character who I absolutely swoon over in books but would absolutely avoid in real life.
100% recommend this book to all the vampire lovers out there.
