Book Review - Seal My Fate by Roxy Sloane
Seal My Fate by Roxy Sloane
The third and final installment of The Oxford Legacy series by Roxy Sloane. Overall, I enjoyed the series as a whole, and it was entertaining enough that I would definitely read more by the author.
Seal My Fate continues after the major shocking ending of Break My Rules, where Tessa discovers that her sister Wren is not, in fact, dead. So after that realization, Tessa realizes that Wren can help them take down the bad guys. That's basically all that happened in this book that I can explain without spoiling anything.
Once again, the characters in this book were okay. I'm disappointed that Tessa left Oxford (especially since this series is called The Oxford Legacy) and that she never made up with her friends Jia and Kris. I really would have liked to see more of them. I was kind of iffy on Saint in my review of the previous book, but I think he kind of redeemed himself in this one for me. Although I still think he fell too fast, I thought his protectiveness was sweet in this one, especially considering the danger that Tessa faced in this book. But once again, I have a complaint about the spicy scenes. How many iterations of the exact same scene can this author write? And how many times am I going to read about "howling" during an orgasm before I lose my mind?
The plot of this book was also okay, but I wouldn't say it impressed me. It felt a little too predictable. I felt as though the story was dragging but at the same time moving too fast, if that even makes sense. Like so much stuff was happening but there were so many details left out. For example, *SPOILER* at the end, Saint and Tessa were able to call a meeting with his family and make all these demands after Saint literally shot his brother?? Like were there no repercussions to him doing that? Why would the family agree to meet with Saint after he did that? Why didn't the family and all their rich friends just decide to not hand over the company to Saint after he pulled that stunt? I don't know, I just feel as though I have so many unanswered questions at the end of the book.
It's not that I didn't like this series, but I felt as though the first two books were much stronger and felt more thought-out. Overall, still a decent read.
